High Days and Holidays

Every country in the world has its special national days off -  some have a lot more than others! For most people, these days are something to look forward to, when everything comes to a stop and you can enjoy the pleasure of a shorter work week or a long weekend.

Local Festivals

Typically, holidays mark a significant national historic event or a religious festival. As we enter the fourth quarter of the year, find out which holidays - gesetzliche Feiertage - are still in store for you; see the AngloINFO INFOrmation Page Public Holidays in Germany.

In addition to the national holidays, Berlin has a full calendar of other festivals. For instance, the 45th edition of the Berlin Jazz Festival is coming up in October. To find out more about the festival as well as others in the region, take a look at the INFOrmation Page Festivals in Berlin.

And for other things to see and do at any time of the year, there's always the AngloINFO What's On Guide. Whether you prefer to take in an art exhibition, enjoy a relaxing night of music, or see what local markets have to offer, there's bound to be something for everyone.
