All two and three digit emergency numbers can be reached from pay phones, without the use of a phone card or money.
- In the event of an emergency dial the appropriate number: fire, medical or
accident (sapeurs-pompiers) 18, police 17, or the Pan-European number 112
- Explain the situation to the operator (English may be spoken but there is
no guarantee). Calls to 112 are received by the sapeurs-pompiers or handled on the spot

Medical emergencies, accidents and fires (pompiers)
The sapeurs-pompiers are the firefighters of Monaco. They are also
responsible for responding to accidents and medical emergencies, transporting
the sick or injured and aiding animals in distress. They are a unit of the Force
Publique.
