Electricity: Emergency and Important Numbers

EDF (Electricité de France) is the national electricity provider to all of France. The English-language website has comprehensive information for: 

A service breakdown call centre is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (24/7).  A "within 2 hours" emergency service is available by subscription to business customers. 

EDF provides an English-language e-mail and telephone service to foreigners in France and international second home owners.

GrDF (Gaz de France) is the national supplier of domestic gas to home in France. The English-language website has information relevant to private residential customers and business people.

Veolia (formerly Générale des Eaux) is the supplier of domestic water for the the Var and the Alpes-Maritimes except in the west of the Alpes-Maritimes: Veolia website

In the communes situated in the west of the Alpes-Maritimes (Mougins, Mouans-Sartoux, Cannes, Mandelieu, Auribeau-sur Siagne) domestic water is supplied by the Lyonnaise des Eaux.
