After giving up smoking (it's been a long year!) I want to join a ladies' gym - preferably in Mitte so it's within easy access and I can go more frequently! Would appreciate some idea of cost / contractual restrictions etc. Thanks

Try Fitness First on Friedrichstrasse - it's easy to get to and they have a big selection of fitness classes so I'm sure there'll be something to entice you. It's also just for women if you don't fancy a mixed gym. They do a free trial assessment session which you get a pass for online. Good luck!
